At The Rocks Bed and Breakfast, we offer Boutique Farmstay accommodation in a unique setting characterized by two acres of dramatic limestone rocks rising 20 metres to the sky, in native forest on our 30 acre farm. Tucked 500 metres off Highway 1 on the edge of Whangarei in the northern suburb of Kamo, central to all that northland offers. Handy to east coast beaches of Matapouri, Tutukaka and Ngunguru. The Rocks is a charming property offering visitors privacy and peace, a writer’s retreat and an artist’s paradise. The rock formations will delight you as you stroll through the native bush and both see and hear our native birds. Sit on our veranda and listen to the native birds sing or relax in our lounge in front of an open wood burning fire.
Farmed by the Jounneaux Family since the late 1900s, The Rocks is on the edge of an extinct volcano that last erupted 40 million years ago. The Rocks was purchased by Janice and Tim Langman in November 2007 and the 1920s villa was lovingly restored during the following year.
Our villa offers three luxury guest rooms: Double with private ensuite and sauna, a king room and a twin room. Our property also features a gently flowing stream and overnight horse grazing. Weddings and small conferences can also be accommodated. We are pet friendly with two friendly dogs on the property. We serve a coninental and hot breakfast.
